  -  Anthropocene   -  Exhibit: Symbiocene Era: Artists Envision Environmental Symbiosis – Bushel Collective | Delhi, NY

I am excited to share that several pieces of mine have been included in the show Symbiocene Era: Artists Envision Environmental Symbiosis at Bushel Collective in Delhi, NY.  The show is curated by Kathleen Sweeney, EcoArtist, professor and author of The Book of Awe.  The opening event was held on October 5, and it was lovely to be there to see the other artworks in the show and speak with viewers and the public.  The Mountain Eagle will soon be publishing a piece about the exhibit and several events will be taking place at the collective through the duration of the event. We are also in the process of coordinating an online artist talk and Q&A session, so please stay tuned for updates.

Work of mine that was included in the show featured two photographs of my time in one of the worlds oldest known forests in Cairo, NY, several cyanotypes of stromatolites from Lester Park on recycled teabags and toned with local black walnut ink, my pigment collection, Dorodangos made from local forged soils and pigments as well as one of my Record of Memories from the Subjective Topographies project.

The exhibition will be up until Nov 3. Stay tuned for updates on the article from The Mountain Eagle as well as the Artist Talk online session.

As a collaborator with the more-than-human, her work attempts to transmute their material experiences through archive + art. She is interested in exploring and opening spaces for speculative communications between more-than-human agents + humans as a means of presenting alternative perspectives to anthropocentric histories + imagined futures.
