ENTRəPĒ
Fleeting ice formations, ice art, ice stories, ice language. Captured in the winter of 2023-2024 on, around and with Round Lake in Upstate, NY.
These intricate formations of ice had formed overnight across various places on the periphery of lake, and shortly after sunrise, and with it rising temperatures up to and around 60ºF – disappeared as quickly as they arrived.
Being the only one to bear witness to these traces of water’s frozen, fleeting metamorphosis, I felt the need to memorialize them as a way of honoring my deepening kinship with the lake in all it’s forms and to be able to share the beauty of what is worth protecting.
This work is on-going and will continue with the upcoming winter season 2024-2025.
