My work with cryo-kin began with Elegy For A Glacier shortly after my first encounters with the glaciers of Iceland. Following that experience, I became more attentive and attuned to my relationship with ice and winters in my own backyard, realizing how they have begun to feel different than the winters of my childhood, and how the ice that forms here around my home in Upstate, NY is beginning to disappear as quickly as it is formed.

These projects here, aim to highlight these observations, deep-listening and my relationship to the ice here at home – while working to weave threads of connection between what is being experienced here in Upstate, NY and to both human and more-than-human kin living in distant cryospheres.
